Just watched The Tourist, starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Was a bit reluctant to watch it because it's a remake of me fave French film, Anthony Zimmer. However, considering how I love Johnny Depp (plus some bad reviews regarding to his acting in this film), there I was trying to analyze the film in my own pov.
Actually, this film is quite enjoyable. I quite enjoy the Venice setting in which boats are more determining ones social status. Yet, IMO, it was wayyy too Hollywood! I mean like, the jokes and all. IMO, it wasn't suppose to be like that. The story could still be entertaining with less joke in it.
There was this moment when it felt like watching Jack Sparrow in James' Bond movies. Especially the roof scene, it really reminded me of the scene where Jack Sparrow was chased by the cannibals in POTC 2. I couldn't help not to giggle over it.
Also, why it had to be Angelina Jolie? Nothing to do with the fact I dislike her, the role didn't suit her at all. The Chiara (or in this film Elise) supposed to be charming and elegant. And, honestly I think that Angelina Jolie's is way too bitchy looking for this role despite of the fact that she looked like Sophia Loren in the ball scene LOL.
So, this is just another not-so-good Johnny Depp film for me. Yet, despite all of that, I still love you Mr. Depp (considering there was this scene in the train which really got me all charmed by his persona ROFL).
